The magma in the mantle rise through the crust above it because there is too much pressure in the mantle which causes the magma to rise.

there are convection currents and new molten rock in the mantle resulting in the pressure in the magma chamber, the lava slowly rises till it reaches the surface where the pressure force the magma up and out
