Linnaeus classified whole biodiversity on physical appearances, but there were some kind of organisms which couldn't categorize into either category. So, Micro-& macro-aspect of the life impacted so much, that's why we have very vast classification now, Morphology & Anatomy developed, which enhanced the tables under the main divisions of any kingdom
