Why does the Iroquois Constitution use symbols from nature to convey important ideas?

The Iroquois Constitution ( also known as the Great Law of Peace) was created for the tribal nations ( Native American tribes) . Therefore I conclude that it uses symbols from nature to convey important ideas because the Native Americans have a well known respect and reverence for nature .
