  • Atomic mass of C = 12 u
  • Atomic mass of H = 1 u
  • Atomic mass of O = 16 u
  • Therefore, the molecular mass of glucose
  • = (6 × Atomic mass of C) + (12 × Atomic mass of H) + (6 × Atomic mass of O)
  • = (6 × 12) + (12 × 1) + (6 × 16) u
  • = 72 + 12 + 96 u
  • = 180 u
