the formula for area of trapezoid = 1/2 ( sum of parallel sides ) * height

Now in the figure we can see that

the sides which are parallel are 4.7 yd and 9.5 yd

And the height of the trapezoid = 7 yd

Now we can plug all the values in the formula

Area of trapezoid = 1/2 * ( sum of parallel sides) * height

= 1/2 * (4.7+9.5) * 7

= 1/2 * ( 14.2) * 7

= 7.1 * 7

= 49.7 square yds
